VARTA Camping and Filming Weekend

Friday 17th to Sunday 19th March 2017

You are invited to join us for a weekend of camping and filming in Lancashire in March 2017.

Prova PR LogoThe weekend is being arranged by our friends over at Prova PR and is exclusively for Outdoor Bloggers members. There will be food, product demos, some filming (see below!), and some fun and games.

We had so much fun at last Outdoor Bloggers weekends in Edale and Snowdonia that we’d love to get a good group of you together for this event. It will be something a little different, but will still provide us with an excellent opportunity to meet and get to know each other in our natural habitat – the outdoors.

The campsite is to be confirmed, but it will be in the Lancashire area, and will be close to a train station to make it as easy as possible for us to all get there. It is a camping weekend ideal for those who like to sleep in bivvy bags, tents of all sizes and kinds, camper vans or caravans. In fact, the more variety the better – and we know there is a lot of diversity in this group!

In order to make sure we get the right kind of campsite, we are asking you to let us know if you are up for coming by the end of December. To reserve your spot, complete the short form at the bottom of this page by midnight on 31st December.

Filming and Product Demos

VARTA LogoDuring the weekend, we will be involved in the filming of a promotional video for VARTA, who make batteries and outdoor lighting products. This will involve us taking part in some normal campsite activities. All will be revealed when you arrive at the site, but we can tell you it sounds like it should be a fun day on the Saturday! With this in mind, by signing up to attend this event you are giving permission for imagery filmed of you and your camp setup to be used by Prova PR and VARTA to promote the brand and products.

In addition to the video, we will get involved in some product demos for brand new products and will leave with a small goodie bag from the companies involved in the weekend. Please see the note below regarding write-ups and reviews.

We would like to encourage you to write about the weekend and review/mention the products you try out on your blogs and/or social media sites. As is usually the case with Outdoor Bloggers events, this is not a specific requirement for attendance but we would encourage you to use your experience as content for your own blog. You are welcome to use social media during the weekend, but we do ask that you do not mention the video or publish any write-ups about the filming until after the video is released on 1 April 2017. We’ll come up with a suitable hashtag we can all use for sharing our thoughts and let you know nearer the time.

A Few Additional Notes

Please note that due to the nature of the event, attendees must be able to arrive and set up camp on the Friday early evening (in time for dinner), and stay until Saturday evening as a minimum.

You are welcome to come alone or bring along a plus one, your kids and/or dogs.

You are welcome to bring your usual camp set up, whatever that might be. Please indicate on the form below the kind of setup you have for planning purposes.

There will be no camping fees for the weekend, this is being covered by Prova PR for us. If you wish to make use of additional facilities (for example if the campsite charges for showers), you will need to cover these yourself.

The weekend organisers will be providing dinner for us all on Friday evening, but you will need to come prepared to cater for yourself (and your family group) for the rest of the weekend.

We know that camping in March could mean we have some interesting weather to contend with, but we know you are all a hardy bunch that won’t be put off by a little bit of Spring time sky! Please bear this in mind when signing up as the activities will go ahead regardless of weather.

The usual Outdoor Bloggers event disclaimer applies. We are coming together as a group of outdoor loving writers to have a good time in the countryside. You are, as always, responsible for yourself during all activities.

If you have any questions at all about the weekend please drop us a line at outdoorbloggersuk@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
